This should include eating several types of vegetable/fruit a day, or foods that contain vegetables or fruit. A popular myth is that vegetarians and vegans can’t live a healthy lifestyle if they don’t eat meat, poultry, or fish. However, a variety of fruit and vegetables will contain at least one vitamin from the following: A, B, C, D, E, or K.

Exercise Should Be Enjoyable And Within Our Capabilities

There are some instances when someone looking to live a healthy lifestyle will become addicted to exercise. While exercising regularly is healthy, doing too much is not. It’s important to understand the capability of our own bodies, including making considerations for our age. Some 50-year-olds will be able to run a marathon fairly comfortably, but this will usually be because they have built up their fitness in gradual steps. Exercise should also be made as enjoyable as possible, and not be something that becomes a chore.

The Importance Of Rest

Rest is another important factor when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle. Not getting a regular good night’s sleep in particular can have a detrimental effect on our health. Consequences will be feeling too tired to exercise, and feeling too tired to concentrate properly. The human body is not a machine, though it bears similarities in that, like a machine, if it’s not properly maintained it will break down or become ineffective.
